Bees Blow as Williams joins Ulster
By Brian Dick - Birmingham Post June 18 2007
Steve Williams has revealed the chance to coach in the Heineken Cup next season was a major factor in his decision to leave Pertemps Bees. The National One side last night announced they had agreed to release their director of rugby from the final year of his two-year contract in order to enable him to join Magners League side Ulster.

The former Wales international has signed another two-year deal and will team up with Mark McCall at Ravenhill in the next fortnight, thereby ending his 12-month association with Bees.

The 36-year-old has been made assistant coach with the Belfast outfit and will assume responsibility for the pack, which includes several Ireland internationals. He replaces Allen Clarke, who has taken a job with the Irish Rugby Football Union.

It is a role he felt he could not turn down: "I was quite flattered that they wanted to talk to me, let alone get the job," Williams said.'); //-->
