Pertemps Bees will give a fitness test to captain Ed Orgee before they finalise their side for the National League One game against Otley at Cross Green on Saturday January 29.
Orgee sat out the 38-15 win over Orrell yesterday because of a swollen knee but Pertemps Bees hope that with a week's rest he will be fit to return to the side for the trip to Yorkshire.
Former Newcastle and Worcester number eight Jim Jenner led the side against Orrell in Orgee's absence.
Centre Mike Davies will also come back into consideration for selection having recovered from the hamstring twinge that ruled him out of the Orrell game and the victory over London Welsh seven days earlier.
Lock Alex Davidson marked his comeback after ten months out with a shoulder injury by coming on as a second half replacement against Orrell. "It was good to have Alex back but he's a little short of match fitness aftr such a long lay-off and we will have to decide how we use him at Otley," said Phil Maynard, Pertemps Bees' director of rugby.
Former Bristol and Coventry centre Simon Martin is now the only long term casualty with a knee injury that required surgery before Christmas.
He has just been given the all-clear to resume light training this week but it will be at least six more weeks before he can be considered for first team action.

Otley have been very solid this year and are based around a strong set of forwards including Kris Fullman. The front row will certain give the Bees front row a lot to think about in a match refereed by a former hooker! They’ve had a very solid season up to now and are currently residing in 4th spot , somewhere that Bees will be hoping to go.

Steve McCormack’s Preview

Although only six league points separate these two teams, the form guide tells us that Otley are playing exceptionally well at the moment and Pertemps Bees are out of sorts, which points to a four or five league point victory to the Yorkshiremen on Saturday.

Otley put in another good performance on Saturday at Cross Green beating improving Sedgley Park 36-3. This was their fourth win in the last five games and they are now in fifth place, level on points with Rotherham. They have played eight matches at home this season and have only been beaten by Bedford, but they have yet to entertain any of the top three.

After a run of five successive defeats, Pertemps Bees have won three of their last four, but the wins have all come against the bottom three at home, and the nature of the wins and the scores have not been particularly impressive. After an excellent start to the season, performances dipped in the latter part of 2004 and they have dropped to eighth place in the league. They have won three from eight away matches, again at bottom three Orrell, Henley and London Welsh.

Otley and Pertemps Bees share a very even playing record against each other. Pertemps Bees won their home tie 32-19 earlier in the season and Otley are expected to reverse this on Saturday.

Steve's Prediction: Otley to win by 12 points

My prediction: 21-16 to Otley
