Coventry 50-7 Bees
By Elliott Josypenko
February 7 2005
Coventry extracted a terrible revenge for their last-gasp Powergen Cup defeat at the hands of Pertemps Bees in November as they enjoyed an eight try romp at Butts Park Arena.

Only a late consolation try from Tim Walsh, which Tim Walsh improved, saved the Bees from a repeat of the 50-0 drubbing they suffered at Coventry two years ago.
But that was scant consolation for a depressing performance which included some wayward line-out throwing from Matt Miles, who lost 80 per cent of his ball, and a lack of penetration behind the scrum.
Coventry had little difficulty in recording a sixth straight win, taking their try count to 38 in the process.
The rout began early when winger Paul Jones crossed after just three minutes and John Higgins added the extras from the touchline.
Canadian centres Nik Witkowski and the destructive John Cannon followed Jones to the line and a miserable afternoon for the Bees continued when prop Jim Thorp left the field with a serious shoulder injury.
Walsh was off target with a penalty attempt that would have given the Bees a respite from their problems and, predictably, Coventry ended the first half woth the first of two tries from number eight Dan Farani.
There was more of the same after the break with hooker Richard Protherough, centre Dominic Sanders (two) and Sanders again crossing for Coventry.
O'Keefe's try interrupted the procession but it put a very thin veneer on what was a miserable afternoon.
