Sedgley Park -v- Pertemps Bees

Pertemps Bees expect to
welcome back fly-half Tim Walsh for their National League One game at Sedgley
Park on Saturday September 24 (3pm).
The former Queensland Reds player missed last Saturday's 24-15 defeat at London
Welsh after he took knocks to his head and neck in training last week.
But Walsh is expected to pass a precautionary fitness test on Tuesday evening
and to replace England Under-19 international Ryan Lamb in the starting line-up
for the trip to north Manchester.
Skipper Ed Orgee is also in line to make his first start since the opening match
of the season against NEC Harlequins. The lock forward suffered an eye injury in
the opening minutes of that game but he made his comeback in the Pertemps Bees
and Stourbridge combined midweek team against Rugby Lions last week.
Orgee came on as a second half replacement at London Welsh and is expected to
start at Sedgley Park.
But back-row forward Will Matthews and hooker Rob Elloway, who are on loan from
Gloucester, will again be missing. Elloway is completing a two-match suspension
imposed by Gloucester for striking an opponent in last week's Guinness A League
game against Bath.
Matthews, who scored a try for Pertemps Bees in last week's victory over
Plymouth Albion, dislocated a thumb playing for Gloucester's A team in the same
game as Elloway received his suspension.
Pertemps Bees have imposed
an internal club suspension on scrum-half Paul Knight following his sending-off
in last Saturday's National League One game at London Welsh.
Knight was sent off for stamping on an opponent in injury time and now faces an
RFU disciplinary hearing.
Pertemps Bees convened their own disciplinary panel comprised of playing
director Phil Maynard, team manager Alan Morden, assistant coach Brian
Thomas-Peter and director Lawrence Grove and suspended Knight for three matches
and fined him one month's wages.
"Paul admitted the offence and apologised," Maynard said. "We convened the panel
because of the seriousness of the offence and because we will not tolerate such
behaviour."
Knight will miss this weekend's trip to Sedgley Park, next week's home game
against Coventry and the game at Exeter on October 8. A dtae for his RFU
disciplinary hearing has yet to be advised.
Knight's absence means that Ben Harvey, a summer recruit from Stourbridge, will
start at Sedgley Park with Ryan Lamb provided cover for both half-back positions
as a replacement.
Reserve scrum-half Neil Chivers, who was signed from Orrell during the summer,
has been released by the club.
Steve McCormack’s Preview:
12th placed Park entertain 11th placed Pertemps Bees with both sides on four points after three games and a win apiece.
Park have lost both matches since winning at
The Bees after losing to Quins on the opening day of the season picked up an excellent win over Plymouth Albion at Sharmans Cross in week two but last weekend were disappointed at losing at London Welsh at Old Deer Park.
Park were convincing winners in this fixture last season with an emphatic 38-19 win. Although on the last day of the season the Bees hammered Park 57-19.
Steve’s Prediction: Bees by five
My prediction: Bees by five (I'll agree!)
