Sedgley Park 33-33 Pertemps Bees
By Elliott Josypenko
September 27 2005
Scrum half and backs coach Ben Harvey landed an injury-time penalty to give Pertemps Bees a thoroughly deserved share of the spoils at Sedgley Park.
Harvey's trusty boot garnered 18 points for Phil Maynard's side in a match where the lead and momentum changed hands throughout the afternoon.

Director of rugby Maynard said: "It was a good game, a humdinger really. Sedgely Park have acquired a big pack and it was a hard match. We played quite well.

"Two points away from home in this division is a good result and if we could do that every game we would be all right."

Bees opened the scoring with a sixth-minute Harvey penalty but that was levelled three minutes later by home fly-half Arno De Jager. On 13 minutes Harvey landed another three points but Sedgley's former Bee centre Shaun Woof went over with De Jager converting.

Harvey cut the lead with another penalty after 27 minutes and then Dave Knight went over by the posts for an easy conversion, but another Sedgley penalty cut the lead to 16-13 at the break.

The Bees were first into their stride from the restart and hooker Matt Miles went over in the second minute and Harvey converted.

Left wing Richard Hopkinson cut the lead by five points when he slipped into the corner and then winger Tom Beim was yellow carded and Sedgley took full advantage with tries from Roberts and McCormack.

With 70 minutes gone the home side lost skipper Jimmy Ponton to a yellow and replacement secondrow Gullaume Schueller ended a rolling maul with a converted try.

De Jager made it 33-30 with moments to go but Harvey found the sting in the tail.
