Pertemps Bees have added winger Aaron Takarangi to their squad for the National League One game against Exeter at the County Ground on Saturday October 8 (3pm).
Takarangi, whose only start this season came in the draw at Sedgley Park two weeks ago, has been called up as cover for former England winger Tom Beim.
Beim, a try-scorer in last Saturday's emphatic victory over Coventry, suffered a slight groin injury in training this evening and has been given an extra 36 hours to recover. Beim will have a fitness test on Saturday morning but Takarangi will travel with the squad to Exeter.
Otherwise Phil Maynard, Pertemps Bees director of rugby, has, as expected, named an unchanged squad for the trip to Devon which means that former Wales Under-21 lock Alex Davidson again misses out.
Davidson will return to action for the combined Pertemps Bees and Stourbridge midweek XV - the Wannabees - against Moseley at Billeseley Common on October 12 (7.30pm).
The Wannabees defeated Rugby Lions in their first outing last month and are expected to include most of the players named as replacements for the Exeter game in the squad for Wednesday's game.
Meanwhile Pertemps Bees have extended the suspension imposed by a club disciplinary panel last month on scrum-half Paul Knight to October 18, the date of his appearance before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel.
Knight was suspended for three weeks after he was sent off for stamping on an opponent during the league game at London Welsh on September 17.
The extended club ban takes in the Wannabees game at Moseley next Wednesday and the first team club match against Oxford University at Iffley Road on October 17. Pertemps Bees have no league or cup match on Saturday October 15.

Steve McCormack’s Preview:

Ninth placed Exeter Chiefs entertain eighth placed Pertemps Bees at the County Ground looking to avoid a third successive defeat.

The Chiefs have made a poor start to the season and after defeats at home to the Cornish Pirates and away at Rotherham are in danger of a third straight defeat unless they can find some form.

The Bees have also had an indifferent start to the season. Last weekend they were 29-7 winners at home to Coventry having got a 33 all draw the week before at Sedgley Park. Their only other away match this season saw them beaten at London Welsh.

Last season the Chiefs won this fixture 35-17 as well as the game at Sharman's Cross Road which they were even more convincing in coming away with a 39-19 victory.

Steve’s Prediction: Chiefs by 6

My prediction: 13-7 to Bees
