Hylton was very popular at Worcester where he was seen as a major part of their 2003/04 promotion winning side.

After a summer of fitness work in 2004, when he gained electric pace, he unfortunately damaged his anterior knee ligament in a pre-season match against Leinster and didn't return for a competitive match for another 13 months.

Although his first start came in the opening match of last season (05/06) against Gloucester, he did not play as many games as he would have liked and with his injury it took some time to regain fitness. Although his chances at Worcester were limited, a return to fitness enabled him to gain selection into the England 7s squad and his skills in this area should suit the entertaining rugby played by the Pirates

According to the Worcester Standard:
Jonny Hylton said the switch down a level to National One to play for Cornish Pirates was essential for his rugby career. The winger said he knew his time at Worcester Warriors was up long before the 2005/06 season finished and he would be out of work if he did not find a club.

Hylton believes the Pirates chances of promotion are good, as is the possibility of him being plucked back into the top flight if they don't go up.
