Magma Group withdraws. Team's future in doubt!
By Gunman April 16 2008
It's official. Super Aguri will no longer be acquired by the Magma Group, since their investors no longer wish to fund the operation. Aguri Suzuki is now considering the future of the team and the team's participation in the championship is once again in doubt.

The big question right now is if the team will attend the Spanish Grand Prix. Super Aguri will continue to negotiate with other parties, but this will probably be difficult, given the team's performance so far.

According to autosport.com, the team's best hope of competing at the next race depends on whether Honda will continue to fund the team and provide spare parts.

Let's hope that Bahrain wasn't the last time we saw a Super Aguri race car.

This was expected and predicted that deal cannot go through.
Now it is 99% that Super Aguri have to go to another sponser for Barcelona for next week.

Spice Energy from India are still eying for this deal but they want NK onboard and their logic is justified as Mr Arneed wants to give oppurtunity so that the younger generation can freely participate in this sport and thus becaome a papular sport in India looking at the current IPL fever in India.

they can easily strike a deal with spice energy.NK is not at a bad driver.maybe they will have to drop anthony for that.maybe thats why honda is not letting this deal to go through.

Its rumoured that Aguri have 3 days to find more money or they wont make it to Spain. I have to say the future looks bleak as Honda have furthered itself from the troubled outfit now too.

Could BMW be an option for Aguri? They had stated they were ready to supply engines to other teams again but I doubt they would extend that any further to supply funding and sharing technical resources and we need money not engines.

The only option for aguri to survive is through the spice group but that would mean possibly booting a driver

That is, if Spice is still interested.

There are a number of other options, but it depends at what price.

Honda want their debts paid so, if they're feeling in the mood, the won't allow it to be sold at too low a price. Of course, if it doesn't sell then they get nothing back, so it's a tough call.

That's the big issue that the Magma's decision has shown. Anyone who wants to buy or invest on the team will also have to pay a major debt and will take a team that is quite behind all the others in terms of chassis development.

This unfortunatly is a prime example of why customer cars should not be allowed in F1,as soon as the big brother team wants to thighten its belt or concentrate on its own program more fully its by good bye second team.I for one was always against it and i am glad its comming to an end,all i can hope now is that SA can be sold and go on to be a real F1 team.-
