deserved victory. London Welsh might point to missed kicks at goal by them, but likewise Coventry at times found it difficult to convert possession and chances into points.

Coventry showed 4 changes in the starting lineup from last week, with Brits, Burgess, McGlone and a new winger Will Hurrell coming in. 

Coventry showed tremendous determination for the first quarter, taking the game to London Welsh, and not respecting their league position. An early Dorrian penalty was not cancelled out until a well worked home try by Paul Sampson in the 27 min.  Cov fought straight back and constant pressure on the home line led to McGlone storming over, for Dorrian to convert, making the score London Welsh 7 Coventry 10.

London Welsh fought back and a penalty and drop goal gave the home side a lead of 13-10 going into injury time. Deep into injury time Dorrian kicked another penalty to make it 13 all at halftime.

The second half saw the game ebbing and flowing, with Coventry always trying to play positively. Yet it was London Welsh who scored a try in the 58min following excellent team handling, allowing prop Paul Jones to go over. An easy conversion was missed making the score London Welsh 18 Coventry 13.

Further Cov pressure followed with strong runs from the impressive debutant Will Hurrell. On 69 min Cov got the try they deserved as Chris Whitehead forced himself over, the try was converted by Dorrian to put Coventry in front 20-18.

London Welsh finished the game by forcing Cov to defend on their own line, eventually the pressure told on 80 mins with a converted penalty, to take the home side back into the lead by 1 point. Yet Coventry were not to be denied, they managed to work the ball up field, and a fine run by the ever improving Greg Thomas set up Dorrian to kick the winning drop goal in the 5th min of injury time.
