MOSELEY suffered last minute agony yet again as Bedford snatched a hard fought match with a try with virtually the final play of the game. Ian Smith’s men had put in a controlled and determined performance and deservedly led 8-0 at the midway point and 15-10 with just seconds left thanks to a try in each half by Nathan Williams and Nathan Bressington. But just as they did against Doncaster
Mose leaked a late score - to Blues No 8 Rory McKay - and a conversion from Canada international James Pritchard gave the hosts a two-point victory.

In truth the Billesley outift should have been well clear. They wasted several gilt-edged chances despite dominating the opening period.

Tristan Roberts dropped one scoring pass and Mark Evans lost control at the back of an advancing 5m scrum.

So there was some relief when after 17 minutes Ollie Thomas landed a penalty.

Williams and Ally Muldowney broke away from a ruck in the 34th minute and the Welshman wriggled over. Thomas was wide with the extras, one of three missed goal attempts from the full back.

Ian Davey’s try and a conversion and penalty from Brad Davies gave Bedford a 10-8 lead until Bressington gathered a poor clearance and ran virtually unopposed from 40m. This time Thomas converted.

But at the death pressure on the Mose line told as McKay wrestled his way over and Pritchard won the match.
