Beaumont Cup.
Hubbleday believes that Cheshire will start as favourites thanks to their home advantage, but he is comfortable with that situation. The former Moseley and Birmingham & Solihull hooker said: “Because we are playing away and also because of the players Cheshire have in their squad with National Leagues experience, they will be favourites to win but we quite like the fact that we will be going there as underdogs.”
North Midlands welcome back Moseley fly half Richard Vasey, who was unavailable for last week’s win against Leicestershire at Stourbridge.
However, they will be forced to reshuffle their front-row resources because Birmingham & Solihull prop Andi Lawrence is not available this weekend. Robbie Yeomans of Luctonians is his likely replacement.
North Midlands also hope that Alex Davidson, the Birmingham & Solihull and England Counties lock, will be able to make his first appearance of the season, having recovered from a shoulder injury.
