The Volac Park outfit hit the financial buffers earlier this week when they parted company with director of rugby Bob Crooks and told their first-team players they would not be able to pay them for the rest of the season.
There has been no word yet on whether the majority of the team has accepted that or decided to move on but for Maynard the regrettable news is a case of deja vu.
“I remember they did the same thing the week before we played them last year,” the rugby director said.
“They put out a statement revealing their money problems and it galvanised them. We went there expecting them to be beaten men then in the first scrum they picked us up, drove us backwards and went on to win easily.
“I have spoken to one or two of their lads and they are well up for this weekend, they are going to give it one last hurrah and we have to be ready for that.”
