CALLUM MacBurnie says he comes to Coventry hoping to re-establish himself and his new club back in the Championship.
The 22-year-old arrives at the Butts Park Arena from rivals Moseley for whom he made his breakthrough into the senior game.
Having joined as a Colt, MacBurnie spent three seasons at Billesley Common during which time he made 38 appearances and scored seven tries – including four in one game against Birmingham & Solihull.
But after a disrupted pre-season he struggled for first-team action last term and ended the campaign on loan at Coventry, which proved to be a propitious move for both parties.
“That made it an easy decision,” MacBurnie said. “I played five games in a row at Coventry and it’s no surprise that my form became quite good.
“I had to work to get myself in their team and once I did I tried to keep playing, not make any mistakes and get my confidence up. I really enjoyed playing and that is a big reason why I am going there again.”
MacBurnie made his first Coventry start in the draw against Blaydon, a result that was seen as the turning point of their season.
