With the match against Newbury last week being postponed at the last minute Ross Allen had to wait another week to take his place as captain of the Warriors.

Matt Newman was on the bench as a precautionary measure whilst he was still recovering from illness and with Dan Hawkes unavailable Steve Johns took on the kicking duties.

With Blackheath being awarded a penalty just outside the Warriors 22 for an offside infringement they were quickly in the lead. They added more after turning over the ball in their own half and breaking to the Warriors 22 before making a second attack on the line for a converted try 10 - 0.

Steve Johns claimed 3 points on the second opportunity to bring the score back to 10 - 3.

Hooker Sam Roberts  scored just before half time for his first try in a Plymouth shirt.  The Warriors came on strong in the last few minutes of the first half and after a number of failed attempts to take the maul over the try line Sam had hold of the ball to touch down. It bought the half time score to 10 - 8.

Ross Batten had picked up a knock to the hand and was replaced at half time with Matt Newman coming in to his normal slot and Gareth Bater moved out to cover the wing.

Warriors played the second half into the wind and conceded an early penalty 13 - 8. Tom Hobbs picked up a bad cramp and went off the pitch but with no front row replacement available the scrums went uncontested when Ed Stephens came on.

Blackheath again crossed the line and took the score to 20 - 8. The Warriors came on strong and tried everything but failed to put anymore points on the board.

Warriors only took a 17 man strong on the long trip to play a very strong side that like Warriors came into the fixture undefeated. Jersey born Ross Allen put in a good performance as captain and the team played well together.

It is never good to come away with a loss and particularly when it means that you lose your 100% record. The Warriors now need to pick themselves up and get ready for their next fixture against Esher at Brickfields this Saturday. This will be a good alternative if you are not making the trip to Bedford to follow Albion.

Team: Jamie Shone, Ross Batten, Ross Allen, Steve Johns, Darren Ritchie, Will Gingwell, Gareth Bater, Tom Hobbs, Sam Roberts, George Davis, Mike Lewis, Ed King, Craig Wilson, Jake Childs, Jamie Tripconey Replacements: Matt Newman(used), Ed Stevens(used)
