Could Albion be the team to beat Saints on super Saturday?

This Weekend

v
Albion v Saints
Saturday 15th arch
K.O. 3 pm

This could could be the most important match of the season for Albion and on a super Saturday when all 6 countries are in action  the the 6 nations. The England/Ireland match kicks off at the same time as our match but will be recorded and played back after the match.

Also this weekend Cornwall host Devon at Polson Bridge in the Tamar Cup. KO on Sunday is at 2:30 and we can expect to see a number of Plymouth players in the Devon squad! This fixture has in been in the passed been played after the end of the season as part of the County Championship, I think, but since Cornwall were relegated two seasons ago it has been played separately. Entrance is £5 or £8 for grandstand with under 16s free.

Both sides have yet to play  home game in this competition and this must have been to the disadvantage of many of the smaller clubs, 40% of a 11,000 gate in Northampton would be a lot of money. Albion for one club must have lost money on this competition so far.

Albion have had a number of matches this season they could have won and Saints have had  few that they have under estimated the opposition and almost lost.

With Albion not getting the results they should, having said that they still seem to be playing well in the EDF so could this be the week that Saints get a surprise??  With the 16th player in the crowd we could do it.

Dawsey could put the Kettle on, but will he start or come in from the bench? Mike Denbee is again playing for England Students on Friday but will he be fit enough to take any real part at Brickfields?

We now seem to be making tactical replacements, something we have not done for most games this seasons.  It is sure that Saints will use tactical subs so we had better!

Re: Spy in the Semi Final
I have to say that this site's match previews are better than any I've seen anywhere - and that includes the national media. Thankyou.
Unfortunately I can't make it down this weekend, and I'm gutted. Brought my old man down in January for his 70th birthday, it was especially special because he played at Brickfields in the 50s as a member of the Devonport High XV - in those days it was the Navy ground and that's where DHSB played their 'big' games against the posh schools - apparently they always won (yes, Dad, time for your cocoa and medicine now).
Most of us Saints fans count our visit to Plymouth as one of the highlights of this season and, should we lose tomorrow, I would imagine we will all be cheering Albion on in the final.
Hope you all enjoy the game, and hope Carlos, Bruce and Ashton give you all something to tell your grandchildren about.
Cheers
Shaddo
PS - If you're in the Ryearch and see Dicky (big fella, Plymouth accent, possibly Saints tie) tell him Paul from the Racehorse says hello and he owes you a pint of ale.
