The PARFC board are in full support of their Director of Rugby,
Graham Dawe, and are confident that he will deliver, with their support, a team that will
be competitive in NL1 next season. Announcements will be made over the next week or
so of new signings.
 | Gareth Evans Prop-hooker-back row | Now plays most of his games as a prop but can also play at number 2. A
flexible player that has been seen in training at Brickfields. |
 | Martin Rice Prop | After a long layoff was back match fit part way through this season, but a
knee injury at Doncaster left him out of the mix. He is just about fit now and has agreed terms to stay
at Albion. |
 | Ryan Hopkins Prop | Returns to Albion from Nottingham and took a place in the Devon side this
season. |
 | James Tideswell Prop | James comes from Stourbridge, where he started every match this season.
Stourbridge finished 3rd so did not come up but James has! |
 | Jane Du Toit Tight head Prop | Jane, took part in all Namibia's World cup appearances for 2007. He will need
a work permit before he can be signed by Albion. |
 | Steve Barretto Prop | Has moved to the southern hemisphere due to family reasons. |
 | George Davis Prop | George did not feature too much after his move from Exeter but has now
taken up residence in Birmingham playing for Moseley. Some report he has been seen at Brickfields
training with the boys. |
 | Tom Hobbs Prop | Last season played most Warriors matches and made his debut for Albion
against Newbury. He starts Uni this season at Loughborough will be at Plymouth for preseason
training but will not be available for Plymouth |
 | Tim Mathias Prop | Played well this season with a step up in performance from the previous.
Could not agree terms and has taken up the offer from Mounts Bay with the hope of commanding a
starting position. |
 | Scott Zimmerman Prop | With Nic moving to Exeter will this Frenchman look at moving on. Indy reports
he has moved on but I don't where to. |
 | James Owen hooker/Fitness Coach | James took the starting position at number 2 along with his fitness coach role.
He is now in the press stating he will be returning to Brickfields! |
 | Sam Roberts Hooker | Sam was the regular hooker for the Warriors and still being at Marjons is
likely to feature again next season. In the Herald in the three hookers picture. |
 | Jamie Salter Hooker | Now confirmed a move from Mounts Bay to Plymouth, |
 | Richard Oxley Hooker | Oxo spent a lot of time on the bench in the first half of the season. Decided to
move on although it is unclear where he will play his rugby next season. |
 | Ed King Flanker | A full part of the Devon squad and Warriors this term. Ed is back in training
and looking to fight for a first team place. |
 | Mike Lewis lock | A player that seemed to have more than his fair share of injuries was hoping
to return to fitness for the County final but was not ready in time. Expected to continue with
Albion. |
 | Colin Stewart lock | Big Colin has accepted another season at Albion and will continue to bring
continuity, strength and size to the second row, injuries permitting. |
 | Jamie Tripconey 2nd/back row | Jamie is studding at Marjons and was sponsored by this website last
season. He played more matches for WW than anyone else with 20 appearances and I would
expect to see him attempting to make the step up next season. Sponsored by

 | Arthur Brenton 2nd Row | The Herald have confirmed that he has signed but PARFC re still to release
his! |
 | Brian Venables lock | Did not play for Warriors last season but is back on the books. |
 | Ed Stevens 2nd Row | Ed has been playing for the Warriors this season, but will he back
next?? |
 | Ben Gulliver lock | Suffering from injuries again this season and has now signed to local rivals
Pirates |
 | Tom Hayes Lock/8 | Tommy finished the season as captain. He played virtually all his rugby in his
non preferred position in the second row and has now made the move to Sandy Park |
 | Craig Wilson Lock/Back row | Has moved back north to further his career |
 | Jake Childs Flanker | Seen training at Brickfields in waiting to make his break into the first
team. |
 | Mike Denbee flanker | Mike has made his mark in the Albion side, England Students and England
Counties. He will be playing on the Brickfields grass next season. |
 | Kyle Marriott Flanker | Kyle made a mark in the Albion squad towards the end of the season. He
captained Devon to Twickenham and has agreed terms with Albion |
 | Wayne Sprangle Flanker | Wayne confirms his place in the Albion setup during the County
Championships. He moves from our near neighbours who will be playing in a different league next
season. |
 | Liam Casserly Flanker | According to the Herald Liam training with the Devon Squad. So the club have
had a chance to look at him |
 |
Sean-Michael Stephen Back row | A Canadian International that has been linked with Albion. Are we just
waiting for a sponsor?? |
 | Jannie Bornman 2nd/back row (8) | Agreed terms with Cornish Pirates but then had a problem with his work
permit and will play his next season's rugby on mainland Europe. |
 | Adam Kettle Back Row | Fell out of favor and played most of the last half of the season on the bench
but has now moved on. |
 | Chris Lowrie 8 | Turns his priorities to his future and signs up to the Army |
 | Brett Stroud Flanker | Has played some great games for Albion in the past but had limited match time
at the end of this season. Has now been reported that he will join Tim Matthias at Mounts
Bay |
 | Matt Newman Scrum Half | Continues to play good rugby for Warriors and Devon, but will he be given
the opportunity to play NL1 rugby this season? Matt has been seen at training and will be part of the
Albion setup next season |
 | Greg Nicholls Scrum Half | Has been seen in training at Brickfields but has yet to officially put pen to
paper. He put in 24 appearances last season for London Welsh with 2 tries |
 | David Palu Scrum Half/ fullback | Thought by this is Plymouth to be on his way to Brickfields. This would bring
the total to 3 specalist number 9s! |
 | Gareth Bater Scrum Half | Gareth has made 9 appearances for the Warriors mainly at scrum half but
has played in other positions. |
 | Nigel Cane Scrum Half | Has been at the club a long time now, making his debut in Sept 2000.
Reported in the Herald that he will not be returning as a player |
 | Ed Lewsey scrum Half/wing | Despite picking up supporter's player of the year moves back to
Exeter |
 | Ross Laidlaw Fly Half/Full back | Starting and finishing the season well, plays a good game when he uses all
his options. He has confirmed his place in the Albion squad for next season. |
 | Kieran Hallett Fly half - Full back | Young Irish player who has been seen in training at the club and now signed
up! |
 | Brad Davies Fly Half | Playing out of position for most of the season he shined when he was given
good ball at fly half. He will playing for Bedford next season. |
 | Daniel Hawkes Fly Half | Dan has made the number 10 slot his own for the Warriors but has only
played a couple of matches for Albion. Dan has given Uni a miss this year to concentrate on rugby
but has yet to agree terms. He has declaired a move to Mounts Bay |
 | Ross Allen Utility back | Played a great role as captain for Westcountry Warriors but finished the
season with an injury that ruled him out of the Devon side. Reported in the press as being with Albion
next season. |
 | Arran Cruickshanks Centre | Reported in Herald that they belive that Arran has agreed
terms. |
 | Keni Fisilau Centre | Keni retook his place in the 3/4s this season and has agreed terms to play
next but will he have stronger competition for his place? |
 | Steve Johns | Playing at Warriors level he had a few months out due to illness, is at Uni in
Plymouth and back in training. |
 | Mark Lee Utility back | Mark has been part of both the U20 and full Devon sides this season and has
been linked strongly with a move to Albion. He has played in three Warriors matches this season and
is now sponsored by alllbion.co.uk |
 | Ross Batten Wing | Ross has speed on the wing and has made 16 starts for Warriors this
season picking up 8 tries. |
 | Liam Gibson Wing | Was out for the last part of the season but has re-signed |
 | Darren Ritchie Wing | Has been seen in training at Brickfields this week so looks like he is here to
stay! |
 | Geoff Griffiths Wing Centre | Reported as signing for Plymouth from Titans, This 21 year old played 15 NL1
matches for RT last season picking up 7 tries and one conversion |
 |
Justin Mensah-Coker Wing | Canadian 2mtr tall who could have played basketball. Linked with the club
and scored Canada's only try against Scotland in the Churchill Cup. The Canadian Rugby site names
him to play against Argentina and puts club as Plymouth Albion!!!!! |
 | Jamie Shone Wing | A young Warrior that has got some speed under his belt. |
 | Nic Sestaret Wing | After picking up most tries in the league in 06/07 he only made 6 this season.
Has moved up the A38 to Sandy Park. |
 | Nat Saumi Coach/Utility back | It is thought that Nat was not going to play this season but was called into the
squad with injuries in the rest of the squad. Thought that his main role next season will be as a
coach. |
 | Tom Jarvis Wing / Full Back | A full back/wing spent this season just missing out on promotion at
Stourbridge after making the move from Lydney last summer. Signed sealed and here |
 | Wihan Neethling utility back | Suffered with fitness last season and played very few games. As reported
on the messageboard on this website Wihan is waiting for a game before attempting to agree terms
with Albion. Whilst Mounts Bay are after him he wants to stay at Brickfields |
 | Emyr Lewis Centre/Full back | It has now been reported in the press that Emyr has completed a move up the
road to Sandy Park |
 | Graham Dawe DoR & Hooker | Despite not producing the best of seasons Graham has the full support of the
board and will be in post for next season. This season he put himself on the bench 3 times but never
came on. |
 | Gareth (Chuggs) Jones Westcountry Warriors | Chuggs will continue to work with the Westcountry Warriors
in the coming term. |
 | Danny Thomas Coach Flanker | After a year away from the club Danny has played 120 minutes for Devon
this season. He is linked in a forwards coach role at Albion. And sponsored by
