The upcoming Grand Prix at the Circuit de Spa – Francorchamps is favoured by fans and drivers a like, and is widley regarded as one of the final driver circuits left in Formula One today. Spa - Francorchamps is one of the most challenging tracks of the Formula One season, with a fast, hilly and twisty nature. as well as a unique micro - climate.

Consisting of 19 corners, including the famed Eau Rouge and also Blanchimont, the lap covers a distance of slightly over 7km and as a result is the longest lap of the Formula One season.

Covering 44 laps, the race is also famous for the unique micro climate which surrounds the circuit. All too frequently part of the course is sunny and dry, whilst another section is rainy and slippery, which plays havoc for strategists. Spa – Francorchamps even has the record of having 20 consecutive wet races.

Going back one year, Kimi Raikkonen won from pole position, followed by his team mate Felipe Massa and McLaren – Mercedes driver Fernando Alonso. Scuderia Toro Rosso had a disappointing weekend with Sebastian Vettel not finishing the race on lap 8 (after failing to make it out of Q1 in qualifying) and Vitantonio Liuzzi finishing a lap down in 12th place, after qualifying 13th.

This year, Scuderia Toro Rosso are hoping that their strong form from the European Grand Prix continues, where Sebastian Vettel finished in the points in 6th place, and Sebastien Bourdais finished in 10th place, which was his best result since the Australian Grand Prix.
