Warriors will be at home as they take on the re arranged fixture against London Scottish Saturday. I do hope the fixture is on and I will try and let you know if I hear it being called off, but I am away this weekend.

You will be able to listen to the full match on Radio Devon on Sunday or if you can not listen online or via the airwaves you could always check out the blow by blow account on this is Plymouth.

Team news:

The biggest headline is that Keni has been suspended from Sunday's match pending his disciplinary hearing on Monday. But this is truly an opportunity for Arran Cruickshanks or Ross Allan to get back into the starting line-up.

With a shortage of props Gareth Evans may be required to cover and has lost his place in the starting line-up to keep him fresh. That is unless another prop has been bought in.

With our two Canadian's back and available they may feature in the fixture but will this be from the bench.

The man himself may also be on the bench again to cover for James.

Matt Hopper has been a star in his first two matches for Albion may be one of the first on the team sheet.

 But what do I know?

Leeds

This week Albion travel 550 miles to the Headingley Carnegie stadium, Leeds RUFC is only 16 years old, it was formed in 1992 by a merger of Roundhay and Headingley, they became the Leeds Tykes in 1998 and in 2007 became Leeds Carnegie.

For those travelling, as far as I know there’s a minibus going – please contact the Travel club for more details. Tickets for ground entry are priced at £12 for Adults, £10 for concessions (over 65's and students with a valid student card) and Under 16's can go free of charge (no ticket required). For those of you that want to stay overnight there is a hotel based in the stadium, the Headingley Lodge is £39.50 per room at the weekend and telephone reservations can be made by calling 0113 278 5323

Last week Leeds played Newbury, and won by a convincing 89 to 12. Well what else is there to say about Leeds, apart from played 14 won 14, although Exeter are chasing them all the way. With an average gate of 3221, close to Albion's 2849, it will be the first time this season the Albion have played on a Sunday.

Players to look out for

Hendre Fourie who plays on the back row, has scored 8 tries
Leigh Hinton playing fullback has scored 7 tries
Jon Goodridge who also plays fullback has scored 7 tries
Scott Armstrong (winger), Tom Biggs (winger), Lee Blackett (centre) and Richard Welding (winger) who have scored 5 tries each

Cider Drinkers prediction, Leeds win again at least by 7– sorry Albion, but they’re on a roll, but please feel free to prove me wrong, and let Leeds work for it

Last Time Out

Two seasons ago Albion took Leeds close in the away fixture and held on to the tie at home in the last match of the season. The big question is can Albion do one better this time??

28 April 07
Plymouth Albion 22
Leeds 22

Attendance: = 4271

Earlier in the season we might have been happy with a draw against league champions on the last day of the season. And whilst a 22 - 22 draw was a fair result for both sides that put everything into the match it made a big difference to the end of season positions.

Albion opened the scoring with a try and conversion from Regardt van Eyk but then Tykes took hold of the match and scored three tries to go into the turn around 7 - 15.

With no changes to the sides at half time Albion seemed more determined and they came back with two tries to Tom Arscott in his last match for Albion.

After Leeds brought on 5 substitutions at one go they retook the lead with a converted try but Regardt slotted a penalty to bring the scores level. And dispite constant pressure on the Albion line Leeds never made in across again and the final score was 22 - 22 leaving Albion in 6th place.

A committed side from Albion gave, what some people were saying was the best game to watch of the season.

Team: Nat Saumi, Tom Arscott, Regardt van Eyk, Arran Cruickshanks, Nic Sestaret, Ed Barnes, Ed Lewsey, Tim Mathias, James Owen, Andy Williams, Mike Lewis, Dan Smith, Tom Hayes, Brett Stroud, Chris Lowrie Replacements: Sila Va'Enuku, Ross Allan(used), Matt Newman, Richard Oxley(used), Jake Childs, Gareth Evans(used), Ben Gulliver(used)

07 January 07
Leeds 14
Plymouth Albion 8

Attendance: = 2445

Albion travel to Headingley and very nearly come away with a win but could just not make it across the line and touch the ball down.

With Leeds spending most of the first half in Albion's half of the pitch and Albion reversed the run of play.

The team played with full commitment but had to be satisfied with a single bonus point.

Martin Schusterman scored Leeds first try taking Leeds into the lead that they never let go of.

Re: Spy in the Camp - Leeds
Thanks Frank for that, Re the cancellation of the warriors game by Scottish made after your posting, I think that if a cancellation for a fixture is to be made, anything after say a Thursday evening should carry a financial penalty in view of the commitment already made by club and staff to be available for the match, surely the clubs involved would know by then.

As for the Leeds game I don't think they are as unprepared for the F.D.,1 this time around but at the same time we could go close again with a bit of luck so I put us for a losing bonus at least, come on the lads.

Semper Sersum.
