Danny is preparing for
the 300 mile trip!

On the eve of this fundraising event please think of Danny as he is away from the training schedules at Brickfields.  I hope to be able to bring you a day by day update, provided that  the technology works, mobile phone.

8th July, London-Dover
An early start from South London sees the group head off for a tough day's cycling. They head through the outskirts of London onto quieter roads and it's not long before they are among the hills and villages of rural Kent and cycling along country roads to Dover and the coast. Leaving the white cliffs behind them, they take an afternoon ferry across the channel to Calais where the spend our first night.
Approx Cycling Distance: 90miles

9th July, Calais-Arras
After a hearty breakfast in Calais Danny will head South. Starting off fairly flat, the ride continues as he peddles through beautiful rural landscapes and quiet back roads. The ride gets more undulating as the day continues until he reaches Arras, a well deserved final destination for the day.
Approx Cycling Distance: 80miles

10th July, Arras-Compiegne
After a couple of hard days in the saddle, the legs may be feeling a little weary this morning asthey head South once more. Today they travel through villages and along French roads to the more forested region around the attractive town of Compiegne, where Danny will spend the night. Compiegne is nestled on the banks of the River Oise, giving a stunning backdrop for the evening.
Approx Cycling Distance: 80miles

11th July, Compiegne-Paris
The final day's cycling takes them South West initially through small villages and woodland, before the Parisian suburbs. From this point the traffic increases, but the destination and the finish will be in sight. Finally the cycle though the Parisian streets around the Arc de Triumph, to the finish beneath the lofty arches of the Eiffel Tower.
Approx Cycling Distance: 55miles

12th July, Paris-London
After breakfast Danny and the rest will be free for the day to explore the city. In the afternoon they board the Eurostar train for the quick return to St Pancras station.

Danny has been cycling since he was very young but has never done anything like this before. Participants are asked to raise at least £1,300 which currently he has raised around half of that amount with personal donations and money donated on the just giving web-site.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor. Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Also Stuart Friswell has agreed to join the party. Stuart left Albion for Coventry before moving Northampton last summer. His premiership career was finished before it started in a pre season match against Cardiff Blues when he picked up a neck injury. He did try to get to  full fitness but in January announced his retirement.

Stuart was looking for a challenge and after discussions with Danny he agreed to join him in this venture.
