Worcester

Well it’s the second match of the season, the least said about Albion’s last game the better (Score = Beds 51 Albion 3). With a few injuries, an ‘unregistered’, it looks lonely for Albion at the bottom of the table. This week we face Ex-prem club Worchester and it looks like quite a few ‘Worcester Warriors’ supporters will make the trip down – I won’t refer to them as ‘Warriors’ as you may get confused with our development side Devonport Warriors J
Last week Worcester played Birmingham & Solihull (Bees), their score at half time was the same as at Bedford, Worcester 20, Bees 3, similar to Beds, Bees didn’t score again and Worcester went on to win by 48 to 3.
Worcester were promoted to the Premiership in 2004, and narrowly avoided relegation the next season. It seems Worcester have had a ‘roller coaster’ ride in staying in the Premiership, seeming to leave it until the last few games to secure their place. However last season they were not so fortunate and couldn’t stay off relegation, by the time of their last game, even if Sale Lost against Quins (which they did) Worcester needed 6 league points to stay, so even a last match ‘reprieve’ wasn’t possible this time.
Players who scored for Worcester last week
Jake Abbot (back row)– 1 try
Marcel Garvey (wing) – 1 try
Rob Higgit (centre)– 1 try
Tom Arscott (wing/fullback), a ‘welcome back to Plymouth ’ to ‘old’ Albion player – 1 try
Alexi Lutui (hooker), with Honours of playing for Tonga – 1 try
Joe Carlisle (fly half) – 4 conversions, 2 penalty kicks
Andy Goode (fly half/full back), honours of 17 caps for England , – 2 conversions
And someone called ‘penalty’ also scored for them last week J
CD’s prediction: a win for Worcester, by 9 points
Last time Worcester came to Brickfields was as a pre season friendly in August 07 and a close game that was with the visitors just coming out on top (13 - 19). But the teams are different now and no one involved on the pitch is still around this weekend in front 2241 lets hope for a bigger crowd and a reverse in fortunes.
The four last times we have met in a league set up we lost

New for this season a chance to download the poster.
why not print it and display it at work or in the car and be part of the publicity and improve the gate numbers?
Just in case you didn't know Saturday is also a certain GoD's 51st Birthday.
No longer 50 now that is something to celebrate!
How about a chorus of Happy Birthday as the squad come back onto the pitch after half time??
Sorry limited information as far as a spy in the camp hope to improve as we go through the season. Frank
