ICRSC Connacht Rugby Player of the Season 2009-09
By LGWT
April 29 2009
At the tail end of yet another tough season for Connacht Rugby supporters, here is an opportunity to reflect on the season almost complete and nominate your player of the season. Name the player you feel has made an exceptional commitment on and off the field of play for Connacht and has been an inspiration to both team mates and supporters.

It's that time of the season again when Connacht Rugby supporters reflect on the last eight months and ponder which player is deserving of their accolade. I'm happy to announce the next chapter in the ICRSC/O'Connell's Player of the Season 08-09.

Will local hero Johnny O'Connor retain his title or have the injury worries taken him too far from the limelight? Similarly his sometime back-row partner Mike McCarthy, a versatile player in good form in all departments except luck. All of our front row have once more rarely taken a backward step, could it be the newcomer, the young Sean Cronin who is seen by many as future Ireland No.2?

In the backs it whilst Matthews has impressed and been noticed by Lansdowne Road head honchoes it is arguably the newcomers here also that have dominated the fans' post match analyses. Keatley, Carr and Murphy have all proven worthy acquisitions for The Sportsground faithful to cheer on.

So there we have it. Actual presentation arrangements are still in the organizational stages but it's time to get those thinking caps on and choose your stand out squad member.

Voting will be conducted online, and I will accept votes in old fashioned form from anyone who knows me, there will a ballot box behind the bar in O'Connell's also if you wish to print of a copy of the online form.
