Leinster Name Strong Side

Leinster have rolled out the big guns for their clash with Connacht on Wednesday while naming a much changed team for the trip to Glasgow on Friday night.

The scenario is the polar opposite of what happened on Sunday with Munster and creates a whole different scenario for a Connacht squad stretched to the limit and no doubt down in spirits after yesterday’s defeat.

The Leinster Branch dragged their heels with this fixture for three and a half months refusing to play it on a number of different free weekends and threw one last tantrum last week when Connacht’s requested date of mid week after the Toulon game had seemingly being agreed on by the Magners league.

Not surprisingly they got their way and will face a depleted Connacht on Wednesday.

The much changed team for Glasgow could well have been always part of the plan as it is logically a much tougher game to win and one win is all that is needed to secure a home semi final but with the flight situation as it is, the Leinster team may well have to travel to Glasgow by bus and boat and such a prospect could have influenced their selection call.

One thing is for sure, the sight of Brian O’Driscoll will attract some extra floating fans to the ground for a game that will hopefully see another bumper home gate for the Connacht branch.

Re: Leinster Name Strong Side
Rob might be right about the Leinster sides being selected beforehand, but if there was something that decided more recently it would have been the fact that Connacht lost to Munster. Had they won the confidence would certainly have been brimming and Leinster would have been in for a tough time of it. With the loss Connacht's confidence took at hit, they're more aware of their aching bodies and there are some injury concerns. The game became infinitely easier for Leinster to win than the Glasgow match.
