THIS WEEK AT HEADINGLEY is back again this week, and after last weeks loss at the GPW Recruitment Stadium (Knowsley Road) in the first play off semi final, we take a look at this weeks news, in brief, from the home of the Leeds Rhinos. It’s the only place to catch up on all the Rhinos news you need to know.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
HEADINGLEY CARNEGIE CAPACITY LOWERED
The club announced earlier this week that the capacity of the stadium has been cut, all because of safety issues in the famous Headingley South Stand. The club’s independent safety report insists it is for the safety of the fans, as the board await further results. The capacity cut comes into immediate effect, meaning that it will be much harder to get a ticket for this South Stand in the Rhino’s biggest game of the Super League season so far. It also means that some season ticket holders in that stand will not be there for the clash with Wigan. The front half of the stand will be cordoned off, so fans will have to create an even better atmosphere than usual at the home of the World Champions. Gary Hetherington assures fans that if any work needs to be done to the stand, it will be done before the start of the season. Hopefully this means better facilities for the nosiest fans in Super League.
ANSELME IN FRENCH WORLD CUP SQUAD
The Leeds Rhinos French forward, Eric Anselme, has been named in his countries squad which will be travelling down under for the World Cup, as he returned back to France last week, after he completed his loan spell from club Albi.
BRIAN McCLENNAN FEELS FANS CAN ROAR RHINOS TO OLD TRAFFORD
Brian McClennan has come out this week and told the press that he thinks the Rhinos faithful can roar his side to the engage Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford. The head coach believes that the Leeds Rhinos fans are the best in the World, and that they create an atmosphere even better than at international matches. But he does say that the team does need to give the supporters something to cheer about. Carl Ablett also thinks that with the expected seventeen thousand Leeds fans behind them, they can make it to the final.
BURGESS BACK IN THE SQUAD
Luke Burgess must of impressed Brian McClennan in training this week. He makes a welcome return to the nineteen man squad after he missed the trip to St Helens last week. Luke takes the place of Jordan Tansey. Here is the full Rhinos squad:
Webb, Donald, Senior, Smith, McGuire, Burrow, Leuluai, Diskin, Peacock, Jones-Buchanan, Ellis, Sinfield, Lauitiiti, Bailey, Scruton, Kirke, Ablett, Hall, Burgess.

RHINOS DRAW CATALANS FOR MAGIC WEEKEND
The Leeds Rhinos are set to play the Catalan Dragons in the newly branded; Magic Weekend at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. It’s a disappointing draw for many Rhinos fans, even though the Dragons did finish first in the engage Super League final league table. Just like Millennium Magic, the festival of top flight rugby league will be played over Saturday and Sunday, in one stadium, and on the May bank holiday. Below is the draw in full;
Catalans Dragons v Leeds Rhinos
Wigan Warriors v St Helens
Warrington Wolves v Hull Kingston Rovers
Wakefield Wildcats v Bradford Bulls
Hull FC v Castleford Tigers
Salford City Reds v Harlequins RL
Huddersfield Giants v Celtic Crusaders
..and that's it for what could be the last issue of the fans favorite, ‘THIS WEEK AT HEADINGLEY’. Lets just wait and see what happens come Friday night!
