The Leeds Rhinos are through to the engage Super League Grand Final for the second consecutive year after clinching a nail bitting 18-14 victory against the Wigan Warriors at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium. The late try from Lee Smith sealed victory for the Rhinos, although his place in Saturday’s Grand Final is at stake after he was put on report early in the game.

The Leeds Rhinos are through to the engage Super League Grand Final for the second consecutive year after clinching a nail bitting 18-14 victory against the Wigan Warriors at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium.


The late try from Lee Smith sealed victory for the Rhinos, although his place in Saturday’s Grand Final is at stake after he was put on report early in the game. 


Lee Smith also scored the first try; that was five minutes before the half time hooter, after Senior was sin binned for being the third man in a melee which was consequent of Calderwood’s interference of a Leeds play the ball. Keith Senior came back with vengeance after his sin binning though in the second half; He scored Leeds’ second try.


This game had everything - even controversy. The officials were not penalizing interference around the ruck, and the constant slowing down of the play the ball.
