Outclassed
repeated..Leeds Rhinos have failed to retain the title of Carnegie World Club Champions, as they loose out to Manly at Elland Road, with the final score being 28-20.
The NRL Champions simply out classed the engage Super League Champions - The Manly Sea Eagles crossed the Rhinos’ line three times within a short space of time, early on in the second half.
Jamie Jones-Buchanan scored for the Rhinos in the first half, whilst Keith Senior, Ryan Hall and Danny McGuire scored in the second, as Leeds simply ran out of time in their comeback attempt, which was almost successful.
It wasn’t a fairy tale return for scrum half Rob Burrow; he was a late inclusion into the Rhinos squad after he recovered from injury, only to leave the field, again, due to injury, after just sixteen minutes, thanks to a bruising tackle, heard by the stands, from Watmough.
Now it’s time for Leeds to put this game behind them, and continue with their efforts to retain the engage Super League title yet again.
