Burrow, last season
repeated...Brian McClennan has named his nineteen man squad to take on the Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in the fifth round of the regular engage Super League season, as the Rhinos look to put things back on track after last weeks loss at Elland Road in the Carnegie World Club Challenge, and also look to continue their unbeaten Super League run.
The Rhinos have cleared Rob Burrow to return this Sunday, as he looks to put in a full eighty minute performance. There is still no sign of Danny Buderus, as no information has been officially released by the club, or Brent Webb for that matter. If rumors are to be believed, he should be returning mid-May. But that gives room in the squad for youngsters, including Ashley Gibson, Kallum Watkins and Paul McShane.
But everything changed earlier this week - Tony Smith was named ‘Head of Coaching’ at the Wolves. Warrington are careful not to be naming the ex-Rhinos and part time England coach, head coach, but it is clear that the board at Warrington are working to try and get off the bottom of the engage Super League, by setting up a new partnership between Smith and Lowes.
Fans of both clubs were preparing for a walk over by Leeds, but with Tony Smith in charge, or at least with a big influence, it’s a hard game to predict. The Rhinos are still favorites. Many Rugby League fans are confused about the titles given to staff at the Warrington Wolves, but it is being assumed that he is the head coach.
Warrington are expected to field Jon Clarke, after he has recovered from his broken arm of which he sustained last season during the play offs. Paul Johnson also returns.
