Rotherham Titans
v
Exeter Chiefs
Exeter Chiefs travel to Rotherham for their final fixture of 2007 and will be really pleased if they can repeat last season's 29 - 0 result. At that time Rotherham were flying high and in with a good cahnce of winning promotion but the Chiefs were stuck in mid-table having had a very patchy start to the season. A look at the current league table shows that a lot has changed since then. The Chiefs followed the 'nilling' of Roth with a blistering end to the season and have carried this forawrd into 2007/08 and are in second place.
| 1 | Northampton Saints | 16 | 16 | 0 | 0 | 666 | 208 | 11 | 75 |
| 2 | Exeter Chiefs | 17 | 15 | 0 | 2 | 522 | 241 | 9 | 69 |
Whereas Rotherham have had a 'pretty' unsettled time since then, as evidenced by their season so far.
| 12 | Rotherham Titans | 16 | 6 | 0 | 10 | 287 | 445 | 6 | 30 |
Both sides have questions to answer following last weeks matches where the Chiefs narrowly defeated 11-10 local rivals Plymouth Albion with a far from convincing performance. Whilst Rotherham were 'hammered' at Nottingham 51-7 who scored 7 tries in the second half!
Historically Rotherham have won 9 out of the 17 meetings between the two sides but their last victory was almost three years ago in January 2005, 17-10. So the Chiefs go into this match as clear favourites but come kick-off on Saturday that will count for nothing. What will count is the Chiefs desire to push Saints all the way and gain another 5 point victory.
Come On You Chiefs...Chiefs...Chiefs...
