Exeter Chiefs 62 Cornish All Blacks 0, just about says it all but Squanto gives a Chiefs fans view of the win. He also has a few thoughts and suggestions on which others may wish to respond. Once again thanks to One Eyed Jack and Squanto for their contributions. Check the Previews and Reviews section and let Moorsman know if you can cover any of the remaining matches.

     Match Report (take 2)

Exeter Chiefs 62 Cornish All Blacks 0

                           by Squanto

This weekends demolition of the CAB’s I think surprised a number of the crowd from both sides of the Tamar as I’m sure did the England / Scotland score as well.

Thanks to OEJ for the blow by blow match report which now leaves me with a blank sheet to write about what I though about the match. Firstly we won and I think that some players showed great potential. Alan Miller returning to 1st team action played well as did Wade Kelly who once given the 10 spot provided some great runs and excellent passing and is my Squanto MOTM Award.

The forwards kept the ball and pushed back the CAB’s on numerous occasions. Our tackling was excellent in not allowing the CAB’s to get any points on the sheet. I’m not sure of the Fluffy Vs Josh tally now, but I did find it amusing when Josh was under the posts to score, fluffy did ask him to throw it over and let him take the points!

The support was good but what’s happen to the Chiefs Chiefs chant when we score instead of the ghastly techno pop music played?

The CAB’s brought support with them, but obviously the 80 odd people I was short of were stuck in traffic and didn’t have their passports to get out of the Duchy.

As for discipline, this was good in the match until our ex players Mr Brooking & Liddington came on and there were punches being thrown at the very next scrum?

More worryingly is our growing injury list with some of our hardest away trips of the season to come. Josh limping off, Chad with a foot problem as well as Danny Gray hobbling off the pitch. Should we have had some one like Wardy on the bench to provide cover in the backs?

To create some discussion on this thread here goes: Next week is a big game in the cup so why did PD keep the limping Josh on the field for so long before subbing him with Kev B who I think showed more flare in the 20 mins he was on compared to CSS all match, why didn’t we put Kev at 9 and move CSS out to the wing?  Finally why didn’t we beat them with a higher score than the Saints, The Cab’s looked knackered with 20 mins to go so we should have scored more points! Still who’s complaining we won
