EDF Trophy

Semi Final
Exeter Chiefs 16 Nottingham 8
Exeter Chiefs overcame a very determined Nottingham side to earn a return trip to Twickenham where they will meet Northampton Saints in the EDF Trophy Final on April 12th.
In very wet conditions and the Sandy Park surface looking f
ar from it's normal immaculate self, the Chiefs triumphed in what was a cracking game of rugby. Although the pitch was waterlogged the surface held up well and didn't stop either side trying to run the ball whenever the opportunity arose. However the defensive qualities shown by both sides was to limit the score to 16 - 8 in favour of the Devon club. The Chiefs will be looking to go one better than last year when they lost in the final to West Country rivals the Cornish Pirates. The Chiefs will play Northampton Saints who defeated Plymouth Albion to book there place in the Final.
I'm not going to give a match report as this can be found on the Offy site or Gemini where you will also be able to hear post-match interviews. Here are a few photo's from the day.

The players were welcomed onto the pitch by yougsters from local schools who played a tag rugby tournament following the main match. The winners would also be enjoying a trip to Twickenham on EDF Finals day.
