Spotlight on LittleTommyHawkk

Tribe Name: LittleTommyHawkk

Age: 17

Why do you support rugby? Its a game
that I actually understand, and enjoy playing and watching.

When did you start watching (or playing)
rugby and why?
I started watching rugby when I was about 13, because Tommy
Hawk kept trying to get me to go and eventually I gave in. I started playing
for Exmouth Girls Un18s 2 seasons ago when it was mainly training before
getting injured last July and only playing once for Exmouth this season and
twice within College trials.

Which players did you/do you admire?
I think pretty much everyone knows the answer to this one, so I’m not going to
mention it. I admire the whole team for their commitment week in week out, but
especially TJ and Luke Arscott this season for their efforts, as I think both
have been outstanding.

What’s your best memory as a spectator?
Standing in the rain at Bristol is an obvious
one, but another memory is stood on the pavement at Bristol
waiting for the coach to be fixed with all the Bristol fans congratulating us. Another good
memory is one player giving me his shirt at the end of the Wasps game thanks to
some specific supporters!

Why do you support Exeter Chiefs and how long have you been
following them?
I support the Chiefs because they have shown that if you
work hard then it pays off in the end, and the way that they have proved alot
of doubters wrong this season is amazing.

What has pleased you most about the way
the club’s developed over the last few years?
The way that the players have
developed and become better, first to secure promotion and then to then to stay
in the Premiership as well as finish 8th in their first season.

How many live games do you see a season?
All home games and most away games, plus the A league games

Do you go to any away games? Yes,
pretty much all of them. I missed Quins, the 2 games in France and the Newcastle cup game when it was icy and snowy
this season.

What’s your particular matchday routine?
Depends if its home or away. Home matches I normally go into Exeter before the
game for a few hours to get stuff like maltesers and a bottle of coke and then
walk from Sowton to get to the ground at roughly half 1 if its a sell out game
to get a place at the front of ETS.

How do you think the coverage of the
Chiefs and rugby union compare with other sports in the region?
I was quite
disappointed that we didn't get more coverage as it was a huge season for us. I
think football is a more popular sport though so that is why there is more
coverage.

Do you watch any other sports?
Formula 1 sometimes as I don't have a choice, and some youth football as my
sister plays.

Do you watch rugby on TV. If so is it
club games, internationals or both?
Both, I enjoy watching the six nations
and am looking forward to seeing the world cup this year. I quite liked
watching the Chiefs games that I recorded this season especially when the
Chiefs won as it was good to re-watch.

Do you watch on terrestrial, satellite
or cable and how does the coverage compare?
Satellite. I was disappointed
that we didn't get more games shown seeing as it was the first season, and that
the Chiefs games were only a small section on the highlights quite a bit.

How long do you think it will take the
Chiefs to make an AV play-off place?
Not sure - I don't think we will next
season as it will be harder to try and stay up in the Premiership as teams will
have started figuring out how the Chiefs play.

Any general comments about the club or
the game?
Thanks to everyone who has made this season memorable
