In any season, there are a number of Champagne moments during games – a spectacular try, a bone-crunching tackle, or an outrageous interception.

2015 has been no exception, and supporters were asked to vote for their favourite. The short-list was:-

1. James Short for a wonderful try at Bath in the opening minute of our first Premiership match of the season.

2. Will Chudley for a wonderful individual try against Newcastle; scoring after a charge down of the Newcastle fly-half’s attempted clearance.

3. Thomas Waldrom for our first Premiership try hat trick in last December’s Premiership match against Wasps.

4. Moray Low for a crunching tackle at the Madejski Stadium on the London Irish full-back – ouch!

5. Thomas Waldrom for a great intercept and try in the Champions’ Cup quarter final away to Wasps.

Once again voting was close, but the winner of the bottle of bubbly, presented by Peter Hildebrand was James Short for his opening day try at Bath. He certainly took longer to drink the champagne than he did to score his try.
