Karl Pryce goes back to League with Wigan

Karl Pryce's attempt to transfer his phenomenal success with Bradford Bulls to rugby union has ended and after a year with Gloucester he is returning to league with a switch to Wigan Warriors. Glaws coach Dean Ryan had said that Pryce was going nowhere, but he appears to have had a change of heart.

At a time when another League convert, Lesley Vainikolo, is threatening to take union by storm, Pryce's stay at Kingsholm has not been happy, and in a year hit by injuries he has made just three senior appearances.
Ryan told the club website: "Karl is a talented and gifted rugby player and has worked hard but we all felt his future development in the game was best served by playing regularly in an environment he was familiar with."
"It is with considerable regret his time at Gloucester was not more fulfilling and we hope he goes on to have a very successful career with Wigan Warriors."
Pryce is Wigan's fourth signing for next season, and he said: "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to join Wigan Warriors and work again with Brian Noble.
"When I learned of their interest in me it was an easy decision to make. They have some quality players and I am really looking forward to being part of the club at this exciting time."
It's not clear yeat whether Pryce's departure will open the way for Ryn to make a new mid-season signing.

Pity, but you win some and you lose some. Les is proving that the switch can be made.

A pity but he has been dreadfully unlucky with injuries and I dont think he was ever fully fit for Glaws. Spoke to him briefly at the last Open Day and he is a thoroughly pleasant bloke, it didnt work out for him but at least he is glad to be back in league and I hope he goes on to have a long and succesful career.
