Players admit it's going to be tough for Glaws

Ryan Lamb - No.10?

Gloucester should make the play-offs, but they are not going to do it the easy way after Saturday’s inexcusable defeat at Worcester and even some of the players are admitting that it’s going to be difficult to earn a home play-off tie by finishing in the top two. But before they try to rescue their frustratingly inconsistent GP season, there’s an EDF semi-final to take care of.
Ospreys are the opposition at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on Saturday afternoon, and the good news is that Gareth Delve and James Simpson-Daniel are both expected to be fit for selection after injury.
Both have been missed and are likely to play, but there is a selection problem for coach dean Ryan at fly-half, where Carlos Spencer is unable to play after appearing for Northampton earlier in the competition.
Ryan Lamb is perhaps the obvious replacement, but he has been out of favour since Spencer signed and coach Ryan could decide to switch Olly Barkley to the No10 role.
Many fans believe Lamb’s days at Kingsholm are numbered, and if he is picked it could be his last chance to stay with his home town club.
Azam try v LeedsMeanwhile, Olivier Azam (right) has admitted that a top two finish is now going to be a major test for Glaws.
He told the Citizen: “The most important thing is to get as many points as we can to finish in the top two. That's going to be really hard now, but it's what we are targeting, so we are going to do anything we can to get there.
"We haven't won away this year. That's a big thing for us. When you go away you don't get the 50/50 decisions. This league is so tight and the teams are so close to each other, so when you don't get the big decisions it makes it difficult.
"We really need to push forward to give ourselves the best chance to play in finals this year.
"Obviously you have to be in it to win it and that's what we're aiming for. We really feel we can get some trophies this year and the spirit is really good."
Well said Ollie, but we thought that was the case before the Wuss game, and we know what happened there.
