Gareth Delve
After being at or near the top for most of the season, that result did their GP play-off hopes a lot of damage, so it's no wonder Gareth Delve says the team is too much of a Jekyll and Hyde outfit.
Glaws are at a crossroads and if their satnav works, they can make it a season to remember. If it fails, it will be another big letdown.
With no game this weekend, coach Dean Ryan (left) and the players have time to lick their wounds after the Saints setback, but then it gets hectic again as the EDF final is followed by the final GP games at home to Wuss and away to Wasps – all in the space of eight days.
Delve told the Citizen: "We need to find our own rhythm. Whether that means making changes or that we just need to give each other a kick up the backside and tell a few home truths, we'll deal with it.
"This week we can be very honest. There's no game this weekend we need to build up for. We just need to get all the rubbish out in the open and gel together as a team.
"If that means the truths sting a few people then we've got a week to get over it and a week to get ourselves up for the Cardiff game.
"We win the rest of the games we've got left and we end up with two trophies and we end up being the most successful Gloucester team there has ever been.
"That's the flip-side. We're very disappointed at this moment in time, but we know that we can still beat any team around.
"That's the confidence we do have, but we've also proven that if we don't turn up, and we don't get our game right, then we can get beaten by anyone.
"This is a crossroads which can take us still to winning two trophies. That's the direction I want to go and that's the direction the rest of the team want to go too."
No doubt those sentiments are echoed by the rest of the players – but will they respond when it matters?
