We may have all ben a trifle flat after the Biarritz game but it was such a pulsating occasion that everyone must want more ... and that's why this week's  game at Sale takes on increased significance.

We must have Heineken Cup qualification again next year so we can learn the lessons of last week.  We lost because we were punished for sin binnings by a quality side full of European experience.

Gloucesters Sione Kalamafoni makes a break during the Amlin Challenge Cup, Quarter Final match at Ki

It's generally agreed that the game hinged on a pasage of play just before the hour mark. Sione Kalamafoni [pictured] got very very close to the Biarritz line with a trademark burst and we looked good for seven points.

But we lost possession and Biarritz broke away to score through Benoit Baby. Game effectively over - it could have been just a three point deficit - instead it was a 17 point margin going into the last quarter.

Fortunately we will have eight dyas gto get that gamne out of our system and it will be a totally different game against a Sharks side fighting for their league lives.

Biarritz showed us how to be clinical. Let's see what we've learnt.

You dont have to be experienced in European rugby to know you should try to avoid getting yellow cards.

We scored two tries late one when they were down to 14 men so its a valid point
