Isn't it funny how no team ever get beaten because the opposition were better on the day Gloucester bear Sarries fair and square because their work rate, skills, game plan and will to win were better on the day. Not because the visitors couldn't be bothered.
According to the excusers Sarries have one eye on Toulon and have already secured their play-off place.
After the b28-23 defeat Sarries' coach Mark McCall is reported as saying :"It wasn't maybe the performance that we wanted. Gloucester put us under some pressure from time to time.
"We gave away a couple of reasonably soft scores - some of our mistakes gave Gloucester their opportunities. Toulon is a huge challenge for us, and that is the only game we will talk about for now.
There's more than a hint of condenscion in there.
The truth was that the likes of Farrell and Joel Tomkins were well up for it.
But they came across a Gloucester side which has shown this form already this season - but not at the consisent level you need if you are to win things.
Johnny May did his Lions chances a power of good with two well taken tries with Morgan getting the other.
