Intriguing Derby

Sunday's derby looks too close to call.  Both sides need the win to improve league positions in what has been a relatively mediocre season and, of course, there are local bragging rights at stake  ...

And for once the coaches have opted not to tinker with a winning side with the only change in the second row where Tom Savage is replaced by Mariano Galarza.

Bath are currently in fifth place and hoping to earn a play-of place, while we are looking to sneak into at the top six and with two games to play we need to win this Sunday and overcome the Chiefs at home on May 6th and see where that leaves us.

However, the Challenge Cup final  six days later very much looks like our best route into top flight European competition next season.

Gloucs: 15. Tom Marshall; 14. Jonny May, 13. Henry Trinder, 12. Mark Atkinson, 11. David Halaifonua; 10. Billy Burns, 9. Willi Heinz (capt); 1. Josh Hohneck, 2. Richard Hibbard, 3. John Afoa; 4. Mariano Galarza, 5. Jeremy Thrush; 6. Ross Moriarty, 7. Jacob Rowan, 8. Ben Morgan

Reps: 16. Motu Matu'u, 17. Paddy McAllister, 18. Ciaran Knight, 19. Tom Savage, 20. Lewis Ludlow, 21. Greig Laidlaw, 22. Billy Twelvetrees, 23. Charlie Sharples
