Sarries handed out a lesson in efficiency and teamwork which would have beaten any side in the Gallagher Premiership. They fully deserved their 38-15 victory and now the Cherry and Whites must stand back and learn from what happened at Allianz Park ..
Our lack of fight and ideas was a worry for many Shedheads .. and presumably for Johann Ackermann who will, no doubt, be putting the effort in on the training pitch this week.
We went into the game unbeaten but hadn't faced the physicality and organisation provided by Sarries - and when we needed a spark from our flair players it was rarely there.
By half time David Strettle had crossed followed by two from Itoje as Saracens went into the break 24-3 ahead.
Sean Maitland and Alex Lozowski trokm the home haul to five tries before we had something to cheer with two late efforts from Mark Atkinson and Charlie Sharples. Too little too late.
Owen Farrell won the battle of the No 10s and never missed a kick.
