Hope Spreaders has learnt a few choice phrases in other languages -- now that'd be fun to hear..(Sm100)

Yegods!!! How on Earth did Waynes World Barnes sneak in there?

Should be good for a laugh anyway, as he most likely wont be allowed to Ref England

im looking forward to spreaders refing the france v argies game. If he has a game where he seems to make random decisions at scrumtime, usually against the side actually going forward, then it could be a long 80 minutes! Generally though I hope the refs are consistent and we dont see southern refs interpreting the rules a different way to the northern hemisphere refs, especially at the breakdown and the forward pass rule.

Spreaders is without doubt the best ref we have in England. We all give them a hard time but its not an easy job - the only one that really erks me is Sean Davey. I thin Wayne Barnes has got better over the past year or two and probably doesn't deserve all the criticism he gets these days - a bit like Rosie he used to make some unfathomable decisions but the recent times I have seen him in retrospect he's been fair. That hasn't stopped me from voicing my opinion politely of course ;-)

CC I agree there will be a clash of styles between SH & NH, think its going to be more on the Mauls rather than fwd passes, as the general rule of thumb is if it was thrown backward its not a fwd pass, a players momentum can always make it look like it went forwards but its relative to the player not the ground. Where as the SH especially the Aussies don't like mauls even more so when they role.
