Rugby WorldCup Random Ravings from the Antipodes 1
By The Antipodean September 9 2007
Rugby World Cup 2007 - Random ravings from the Antipodes 1. One of our fellow viewers and poster will be giving their random thoughts over the next few weeks regarding the Rugby World Cup. Focusing in particular on the Antipodean teams ups and downs as we move through the tournament.

Random ravings from the Antipodes 1

What price an upset Samoa to beat South Africa? Not that likely, but Samoa is regularly underrated by most followers of the international game.

Of course they've beaten Wales twice at previous World Cups.

Victor Matfield is probably just paying lip-service but he has been quoted as rating them "a real threat" [www.worldcupweb.com]  he goes on to say that the Boks can't afford to look to their game against England and not pay attention to Samoa.

Well, after England's tedious, slo-mo victory over the Yanks, Samoa looks to be a bigger threat to the South Africans than the defending world champions.

Apparently not so much of a threat after all.
