4 Try scorer Bryan Habana
IRB Rugby World Cup 9th September 2007
(Pool A) Match Review
South Africa 59 vs. Samoa 7
South Africa got off to a brilliant start in their first game of the Rugby World Cup putting eight tries over the Samoans and gaining a bonus point to boot.
Samoa put up a brave fight especially in the first half and had the Boks in their sights going in at half time only 21 -7 down. However, the strength and stamina of the Springboks showed through and the second half they pulled away making it look all very easy.
Four tries came from Bryan Habana (remember the chappie we tipped in our Preview) and in so doing he equalled Chester William's Rugby World Cup record set against the Samoans in 1995.
And then we have that man Monty who bagged 29 points, with two tries, five conversions and three penalties in a good all round performance. Tries also from outside centre Jaque Fourie and right wing JP Pietersen right on the whistle ensured the Springbok bonus point victory.

Percy Montgomery - South Africa
Samoa's try came from centre Gavin Williams and his conversion. Centre Brian Lima then came on for Samoa, becoming the first player to take part in five World Cups.
However, he was only on for a moment as he was forced to leave the field following a head clash while attempting a tackle.
All in all a good day at the office for the Springbok.............
Look out England the Boks are coming to get you!
