Firstly I think we need to have upmost respect for Leicester (the club) As they handled the whole sage in the best way possible. And made the right decision in the end.
We all know the real perpetrator in this is the RFU and the rule makers. Let's hope things change in the future.
Here is the statement released by Leicester Tigers:
" Following the Powergen Cup semi final between Leicester Tigers and Gloucester on March 1 we studied the match reports from the referee and the fourth official and felt that there were certain issues that needed to be clarified.
Five days after the match we have still not received any clarification from the RFU as to whether or not there was a breach of the competition regulations.
We have pursued this matter because we have genuine concern that the regulations pertaining to front row replacements across all domestic and international competitions involving Leicester players are ambiguous. We believe they should be standardised as soon as is practically possible and ideally this will take place before the Powergen Cup Final on April 5.
Under no circumstances would we have been happy winning this match by default, and have therefore decided not to appeal against the RFU’s ruling and wish both teams well for the final."
Now let's get ourselves regrouped and ready for Bristol and Twickers!
