Crusaders v. Wakefield Wildcats - preview

Come on Cru...!!
By Chris O'Brien
March 22 2009
The Celtic Crusaders will hope to pick up their first ever Super League win on Sunday evening as the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats head to South Wales. If you’re stuck for a Mother’s Day present, perhaps bring the old girl down to the Brewery Field for some rugby league as John Dixon's men look to break their big league duck!

Cru go into the game on the back of a 48-18 defeat to Hull KR and will be anxious to avoid another heavy defeat.

Wakefield have enjoyed a decent start to the Super League season having picked up four wins from six outings. The Yorkshire club have been performing well despite a long injury-list which many feared would derail their campaign.

Cru fans will be delighted to hear that record try scorer Tony Duggan is expected to return to the starting XIII on Sunday, but skipper Jason Van Dijk will again be absent with his injury proving worse than first feared.

The attendance on Sunday evening will be interesting. Wakefield are unlikely to travel in numbers; and with the game on Sky and it being Mother's Day, we could be set for our lowest home gate of the season so far.

Come on Cru.

Prediction? HOME WIN.
Crusaders are 2/1 with the bookmakers and we're tipping the first SL win to come on the weekend. Discuss your thoughts on the messageboard.
