The British & Irish Lions piled on the pressure in the first 15-20 mins without posting a score but they looked good. In fact they looked slippery and hard to handle for the Sharks. The Sharks of course lacked some of their first team players who were not allowed to play by Peter de Villiers, South Africa’s head coach but even so the Sharks could only muster a 3 point penalty.

The Lions gave away so many penalties but the Sharks could not capitalise. The breakdown needs working on and frankly Phil Vickery is becoming a player of liability not an asset.

O'Gara did ok but the Test spot looks like it will go to Jones, Mears looks solid along with O'Driscoll who almost scored but slipped off the pace and maybe showing that age and time is starting to catch up on him, years ago he would have nailed that break for a try. O'Driscoll also set up Fitzgerald's try, from the break down the wing. Lee Byrne again looking dangerous down the wing and again going in for a try. Tries for Mears, Phillips, Fitzgerald, Byrne, Heaslip

British and Irish Lions Jamie Heaslip is challenged by Sharks Keegan Daniel.
All in all though a good win but lots still to work on.
