Close Encounter

Sharp

Playing at Coventry so soon into the new season was always going to be a tough call. The home side started well with Blues old boy  Jake Sharp in fine kicking form and  anxious to prove their worth after their promotion  but we did claw our way back and were well worth two bonus points in the 34-27 defeat ..

Three tries in eight minutes in the first half for Cov had us rocking and we never full recovered..

We were 29-17 down at half time and did mount late pressure looking for at least a draw but Cov held out to deserve their seven point margin.

The tries came from Elliott, two from Hutler andone from Davies on his debut.
