Newcastle Falcons Supporters Club 2008/09

The Newcastle Falcons Supporters Club is open to all rugby enthusiasts, but particularly those who support the Newcastle Falcons. 

 

While most live in the North East we also have members in Ireland, France, South Africa and even Crete.  They range in age from babes in arms to senior citizens - and this is by no means an exclusively male preserve.  Indeed we are very much family focused.

 

Members of the Supporters Club can enjoy the following:

Regular update emailsRegular social events, including Talk Ins with players and staff.Reduced-rate travel to away games on the Supporters Club coach.

10% off meals purchased in Due Dieci Italian Restaurant

 

Membership costs £10 a year for adults, £5 for those under 16 or a family membership consisting of two adults and 2 juniors (under 16years) for £15.

 

Review

 

We hope to produce 3 Reviews per year ourselves.  These Reviews look back at the Supporters Club events over the preceding 4 months.  If you have anything you would like to see in the Review (your photographs and/or stories from socials or matches) please contact our secretary, margaret.smithurst@nepia.com to discuss.

 

Social Events

 

The Supporters Club organizes regular social events for Members.  These range from Talk-Ins (with players, coaches, referees and women's rugby players), and to which admission is free to members.  We also arrange quizzes, Christmas party nights and Northumbrian Night dinners.

 Many of these events are held at Kingston Park, and several events will see guest appearances by the players.

Away Travel Arrangements

 

An important role of the Supporters Club is to assist those supporters who wish to travel to away fixtures and support the Falcons.

 

Normally this involves coach travel, with coaches departing from Kingston Park on the morning of a match and returning after the match.  Whilst most people join at Kingston Park, we also arrange pick-ups at various points (Washington Services, Scotch Corner) along the route, by prior arrangement. 

The exact arrangements (departure times/return times etc) will vary for each trip and will be publicized on the Supporters Club web site, the Supporters Club Notice Board and the Travelling Falcons Forum at

Coach trips are enjoyable occasions and a great way to meet other Falcons supporters.

European Travel

 

We usually travel away to the European games.  If you would like to come along and be part of the European travelling Falcons, which is always a great laugh and fantastic few days away, please contact Margaret who will give you information on flights and hotels for the varying locations.  margaret.smithurst@nepia.com

 

Discount

 

Supporters Club members are entitled to a 10% discount on meals purchased in Due Dieci on non-match days.

 

Player of the Month / Year Awards.

 

All Members of the Supporters Club are eligible to vote for the Player of the Month and Player of the Season awards.

  

Each month, Members are invited to vote for the Player who has made an impression on them over the past month.  When the votes are counted, the Player with the most votes is awarded Player of the Month.  Those Members who voted for that particular player are then entered into a draw - one lucky winner gets the opportunity to present the award to the winning player in the West Stand following a home match.

 

Sponsored Player

 

The Supporters Club sponsors two people this year.  One is Coach, Alan Tait, the other is Rob Miller.

 

Liaison with the Club

 

The Supporters Club has monthly meetings with representatives from Newcastle Falcons to encourage healthy relations between the two organisations.
