Pezza joined the Falcons from Plymouth Albion in the summer of 2005, having been at Plymouth since the summer of 2001, following a brief spell at Bridgwater and Albion, who he joined from Exeter. The former Royal Marine has representative honours with the Navy and Combined Services.
Andy notched up 27 starts last season – his debut coming in the narrow defeat at Sale on opening day. His size and physicality are certainly assets in the tight exchanges and the Kingston Park faithful will be looking to see more of his ball carrying skills next season, as well as hearing more of his vocal skills – he entertained the post-match crowd in the West Stand bar with a lusty rendition of ‘Delilah’ after the last home game of the season.
Fact: The former Royal Marine holds the dubious distinction of being the only Falcons player red carded during the last campaign. That was in the infamous game at Welford Road in October where he bore the brunt of an assault from Julian White and was probably unlucky to get his marching orders for a head-butt that only Tony Spreadbury saw - he was banned for 4 weeks.
