Do you fit?
The competition starts on Friday 20th July and runs, well staggers, until Sunday the 22nd.
Day one usually consists of getting your tent pitched, sorting out your bed and going to the clubhouse to meet up with old friends, followed by an early night. Day two sees the start of some sublime flowing 7s rugby. The first part of the day is given over to the pool stages followed by a light lunch. The afternoon sees the knockout rounds for the various trophies on offer.
After the prize giving, the evening is spent in reflection of the days sporting endeavours and contemplation of next year’s competition. Day three is taken up with clearing up and putting the tents away.
If you believe any of this….
Welcome to the Fat Blokes. Three days of the lowest level rugby you will see from one year to the next. Friday. Put up tent, hit bar. Saturday. Get up, eat fried grease, play 7s in-between beers, fall around, cheer the prize giving, dance to the bands playing in the marquee, pass out. Sunday. Try to find out who you are, where you are and where your clothes went.
We want players of any vintage, ability and skill level. If you fancy covering yourself in glory, drop me an e-mail with your name, log-on name, any relevant experience (Ha ha ha) and contact number.
Golly
