We are very pleased to be able to announce an evening of fine food, bounteous beverages and convivial conversations with the Drunken Wasps. This will be held at the Clay Oven Restaurant, near Ealing Broadway Station, on Wednesday 1st August. In attendance will be Mr. Alex and & Mrs Lizzi King.

PLEASE NOTE: This evening is now fully sold out, and there is a waiting list for places in case of cancellations.

 

To avoid any unnecessary embarrassment to Alex on the evening, if you have not received an invoice and paid this in advance (or discussed payment with Kevin) then please do not come along and hope or expect to get into the venue.  There simply is not enough room, and we will have to refuse you admission.

The evening will begin at 7.30pm for drinks, first course to be waiter-served promptly at 8pm. The main courses will be served buffet style, allowing each person to pick exactly to their tastes. The menu for the evening is:

Clay Oven Mixed Grill

Amritsari Fish

Vegetable Samosas

Vegetable spring rolls  

   

Karahi Chicken

Lamb Saag

Aloo Gobi

Mutter Paneer

Mushrooms and sweetcorn  

Pilau rice  (plain rice available on request) 

Naans and kulchas  

Salad, yogurts etc.  

The cost per person for the evening is £20 per person, which covers all the food.

Drinks will be available from the Clay Oven bar, on a pay-as-you-go basis. The restaurant is well stocked with different lagers and wines: however, they do not carry a bitter.

Orders should be placed by sending an email to kevin@drunkenwasps.com stating clearly the names of all guests.

An invoice will be sent, and payment should be made by return to the account specified on the invoice. Please note that payment in advance is required.

If you cannot attend and give notice before Saturday 28th July, we will be in a position to make refunds, and to allow waiting list requests to be fulfilled. After Monday 29th 9.00am, no refunds will be available.

Please note that any money in excess of the final restaurant bill will be used towards a special charitable disbursement to be announced shortly – the DWs never make any retained profit.

Could we rename it 'Alex King's Welcome Home Dress Rehearsal Curry'? It would make it an altogether happier occasion.(Sm10)
