The brand new Leeds Rhinos home shirt (2009 season) has been revealed today, showing similarities to Kevin Sinfield’s testimonial shirt, as the side looks to win a third consecutive engage Super League title.

You can see for yourself what the new shirt looks like by visiting the official club website (leedsrugby.com), or by reading tonight’s Yorkshire Evening Post (yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk).

The shirt, as said earlier, echos the stripe affect which was first used on Kevin Sinfield’s testimonial shirt last season. The shirt is dominated by it’s amber strips, with a thinner navy strip below. The main color is blue. The sponsors on the shirt also seem to be the same. On the left side of the chest is the Cobbett’s logo (began sponsoring in 2008), and in the centre of the shirt is the Leeds Building Society logo, the same as the previous two seasons. Jet2 and LSS skips also once again sponsor the back to back champions, in their same respective spaces as last year.

The squad will also be wearing the new Super League Champions badge on their sleeves, which has been designed by the RFL.

Kevin Sinfield (modeling the shirt in the YEP and on the official club website, along with Jamie Jones Buchanan) said in an interview that he really likes the new design, and also commented on the fact that the shirt has traditional elements, making his side stand out from the rest.

The complete kit goes on sale at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium on Saturday, at 8am, when the refurbished club shop re-opens it’s doors. The shirt will be priced at £40 for adults and ladies, whilst for children it will be priced at £30. The infants mini kit is available for £25. This year, Rhinos wear is exclusively available at the club store and not JJB.
